LOCATION:
The site of the first ever HomeSounds live-streaming microphone, Cracking Hill overlooks a fenced grazing field in the heart of the Estate. Thick fern cover, deep leaf litter and spaced oak trees provided an intimate acoustic habitat, but because of its siting on the side of a hill the microphone picked up sound from a wide area, including the nearby North Sea and the sound of passing steam trains on the North Norfolk Railway.
MICROPHONE:
A stereo air microphone located on Cracking Hill on the Sheringham Park Estate. The microphone is no longer broadcasting but you can hear extracts of the acoustic habitat it shared by clicking the button below.
