One Month Album - 2017

A collection of field recordings with the theme of HomeSounds. These are mine. Recorded simply using a pair of Binaural microphones and audio recorder some are planned, most are spontaneous.

When he was little, I spent a lot of my time walking the city with my young son. These recordings include many of the places we commonly visit.

This is the aim of the HomeSounds project; to capture snapshots of sound with personal meaning. Hopefully they might mean something to you too...

This album is best listened to using Headphones.

Excelsior - Binaural Ship Tour

A collection of Binaural recordings made in September 2019 aboard the Excelsior, a traditional fishing smack operating out of Lowestoft, Suffolk. The Excelsior Trust is a charitable organisation that provides life-changing sailing experiences for young and disadvantaged young people, and others, whilst preserving and maintaining one of the UK's most historic ships.

Listen with headphones.

Sketches from Summerhill

A collection of field-recording sketches captured at Summerhill School, a pioneering educational community founded by educationalist A.S.Neill and located in rural Suffolk, UK. Summerhill is founded on principles of children's rights, freedom not licence, play and self-government.

Recorded across October and November, 2015, these sketches have found quiet corners and acoustic habitats often obscured to the public by the loud, passionate debates that surround the school's public identity. These debates and conversations in themselves often offer little insight into the real experiences of individual members of the school community, both past and present. These recordings hope to offer something of that insight.

Lockdown Listens

A simple collection of extracts from HomeSounds live-streaming microphones installed at Sheringham Park and Pigneys Wood in Norfolk, UK. These extracts were recorded during the second UK Covid-19 lockdown in November and December 2020.

The intention is to offer, encourage, and renew opportunities for the listener to seek calm and focus, whatever their circumstances, in the midst of isolation and pressure.

A recording was released everyday until the final day of lockdown on December 1st.

All proceeds go towards the HomeSounds project.
